Biography
I completed my studies at the Dance University of Arts Folkwang Hochschule Essen from 1993 to 1997. During my studies, our class developed a piece with Malou Airaudo that toured in several places. Others teachers were Lutz Förster, Jean Cébron, Dominique Mercy. I had the opportunity to connect with the Limon-Dance Company and work with Libby Nye, Carlos Orta, Roxanne D’Orléans Juste, and Carla Maxwell. After my studies, I received my first engagement with the Compagnie Thomas Duchatelet and Kyomi Ichida, dancers from Pina Bausch, who decided to establish a new company at the Opéra de Lille in France.
From 1999 to 2001, I was a member of the ensemble of Tanz-Theater Joachim Schlömer at Theater Basel, where I was introduced to the art of theater and worked with the directors Sebastian Hartmann and Florian Fiedler. Under the umbrella of Tanztheater Basel and Joachim Schlömer, I had the opportunity to perform and create works in San Francisco at the Theater of Berkeley. In 2002, I established myself as a freelance dancer and collaborated with various directors as a choreographer, performer, and movement coach for actors. From 2007 to 2011, I was part of and a guest artist with the dance and performance collective PVC at the Theater of Freiburg, where I decided to settle with my partner and our child. During this period, I had the chance to work with numerous artists in dance, theater and film including Sebastian Nübling, Tom Schneider, Graham Smith, Felicitas Brucker, Sebastian Hartmann, Klaus Brömmelmaier, Michael Neuenschwander, Alexander Nerlich, Emi Miyoshi, Mira Fejfer, Stefano Di Buduo, Slowboat Productions, Dead Brothers, and Caterina Cianfarini.
In 2016/17, I was involved pedagogically as a teacher at the School for Dance, Performance, and Improvisation at Bewegungsart in Freiburg and conducted several workshops over the years. Since 2016, I have found a place in the independent scene with the performance collective "Compagnie LaPerformance," under the direction of Julie Jaffrennou.
In 2022, I received a scholarship from the Dachverband Tanz /DIS-Tanzen to create a black and white video diary, “nouvelle routine,” which has already been screened once at the cinema in Freiburg.
As a second career, I decided to pursue studies in the field of Shiatsu bodywork. I graduated in 2017 and have since been working as a Shiatsu practitioner in a collective practice in Freiburg (shiatsu-ag.de).
